We decided to try Brunches Cary for a change since we usually go to First Watch and wanted something different. The place itself is nice, with a good atmosphere, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming, which gave us a great first impression. However, the experience didn’t quite match the high expectations we had based on the ratings and reviews. I ordered the All American, and unfortunately, it was very underwhelming. The pancakes were not offered with any choice (I would have preferred cinnamon, but no one asked), and overall the dish was quite bland. The scrambled eggs were overdone and lacked flavor, and the bacon portion felt minimal. My child had the kids’ version of the same dish, and it was just as plain and uninspired. My wife ordered the Carolina Sunrise (open-faced biscuit with hot honey, fried chicken, pimiento cheese, pepper relish, and two eggs). It was okay, but nothing memorable—definitely not something we’d come back for. Service was not bad, but it felt a bit indifferent. Nothing rude, just not attentive or engaging—possibly due to being short-staffed. We also had to wait about 45 minutes to almost an hour to be seated, which made the overall experience more disappointing given the food quality. While waiting, we reviewed the menu, which looked promising—especially their drink selection, which honestly seems like the highlight of the place. Another downside: the tables didn’t feel truly clean, more like they were quickly wiped down rather than properly sanitized. Overall, this place feels more like a spot to grab drinks rather than a destination for great brunch. The food is very average, lacking flavor and personality. Compared to places like First Watch, the difference in quality is very noticeable. Unfortunately, we don’t see ourselves coming back. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $10–20
