Some other guys and I were walking to meet friends elsewhere and the weather started to turn so we hopped in. We ordered a nitro on tap. They had the lines crossed and it took a second for then to straighten it out. Due to the inconvenience they gave us all a shot of whiskey while we waited. Won points in hospitality. Great whiskey selection. If I didn’t have to get back I would have tried some of their vast whiskey selection. Will definitely try again.
Great cocktails and the steak is fantastic - the 2 lb tomahawk is worth it
Buffalo Proper is located in a historic building in downtown Buffalo. The restaurant has taken full advantage of the space exposing the old red brick walls and removing part of the first floor ceiling creating a soaring space about the bar (which can get quite loud). The food is best described as "local farm to table". The appetizers are excellent. Order the delicious Epi bread and definitely try the red wine poached farm egg with potatoes or the agnolotti. For our entrees, we ordered the local bass (nicely cooked and a full-sized, filleted portion), grilled salmon and hanger steak. There's a large selection of wines by the glass and a very good cocktail list (the Night in Tunisia is massive with two type of rum, camparai, pineapple, lime and much more!).
