Decided to try Bull Hot Pot with my wife. Immediate impression was that it looks like a very upmarket hot pot place. The seating was better than other hot pot joints and the private dining area looked fantastic. However, it was very pricy, even dipping sauces were charged when they are usually free everywhere else. The soup was difficult to cook if cos of all the free floating chillies and spices and the servers were floating around but not always easy to get their attention . The neat selection was ok, but there seemed to be fewer items on the menu than compared to other hot pot places. The bit that got me the most was an 8% service charge (tip) already included on the bill. It was just my wife and I... 2 people and we attract an automatic 8% tip on a bill that is already R1000+ after we cooked our own food!! For that reason alone, I removed a star from the rating and will not be returning. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 1,000+ Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

This is my favourite place to get hotpot. The service is lovely, especially if its your first time trying hotpot, the waiters are super helpful on how to order since its a very "Do it yourself" type of social meal. Always love the cuts of meat here and the veg tastes super fresh. I also love getting a half and half pot of broth with one spicey and one bone broth, lovely to pick and choose your own flavors in the sauce too. Its a great place to go with 4 or more people and the outside area is my absolute favourite since it can get a little hot with a boiling pot in front of you! Not to mention the price is quite reasonable compared to other hotpot places I've gone to. Between 4 of us it cost around R800 with a tip and we were all full! The atmosphere is lovely and the food is too! I definitely recommend giving it a try.
