Visited Burghwallis pub this lunch time. never been before, but my brother lives in a village near by so seemed a good idea to grab a carvery on our visit through... wasn't disappointed... from staff meeting you as you entered the pub, the the waiting staff along with bar tenders and carvery staff... all so friendly and welcoming... Then came the carvery... OMG!! I'm a big meat eater... WOW this guy was after my own heart. plate a plenty and at one point thought I was defeated ... but only at one point... don't like wasting good food. and that's exactly what you get here! very happy today
Don't want to condemn a place on a one-off. Clearly the Burghwallis pub enjoys good reviews and that must be for a good reason. My advice based solely on my recent visit is to avoid eating there on Sunday after 2.15. Whilst carveries are never the hottest meal, our Carvery was particularly cold and this detracted from enjoyment of meal. The desert choice was non existent. Having started the day with half a dozen choices we were left with only one 'choice'. Regrettably this has put us off and will look for alternative venues in future though we wish the Burghwallis continued success.
