Nothing like a good Reuben sandwich except when you don’t have enough corned beef to go with the sauerkraut Russian dressing Swiss cheese Grilled bread tonight‘s takeout was a big letdown. It was more like a grilled sauerkraut with Russian and a little bit of corned beef. I just hope the dessert I picked out carrot cake has a little bit More ofcarrot in it To make up for the lack of the corned beef on the Reuben. Meal type: Dinner

Plattsburgh needs a better #3 restaurant. Trip Advisor failed us or maybe we were failed by Butcher Block reviewers with no olfactory or visual acuity. I ordered the ribeye with green beans and a baked potato….simple. Of the three, the baked potato was the winner, that was until I opened the single portion package of sour cream over my potato and water poured out. The steak was gray and watery with no flavor. There was a seasoned butter mound on top of my steak that didn’t seem to melt because the steak was warm. The green beans had promise until I tried to stab one with my fork. Couldn’t do it. I was very disappointed and the server knew it when she came to ask if everything is OK. I didn’t know where to start and asked for the check. She inquired more but where was I to start explaining after a long day of travel. Here are my recommendations to improve this particular order: (1) wash fresh green beans, grab a pile of them and hold in hot salty boiling water for 15 to 30 seconds, shake the excess water off of them and plate them last. (2) bake a good size potato and slice a little down the middle longways; add butter or sour cream as per the order. Get rid of pre-packaged sour cream, easy to make fresh. Also, charge up for loading the potato with bacon, chives, cheese, etc. (3) fresh not frozen ribeye, salt and pepper both sides in advance, hot grill, 3.0 min on each side, ensure good char, serve without seasoned butter but maybe offer some carmelized onions. Restaurant needs: smells bad, bathroom terrible, needs deep clean. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50
