From a long time Madison man: butter your bird here! Best chicken in Mad-town. I suggest stopping by when the Badgers do not play a home football game. Order their half friend chicken. You’ll be happy you did. Great beer selecation. Even after a Badgers home game, like today, we had great hot chicken and burgers. Top place on campus. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Recommendation for vegetarians: Would not recommend Vegetarian offerings: Not sure Vegetarian options: Great beer. Fries were among the best I ever had!! Really!

Butterbird was AMAZING! We came to Madison for a conference and hosted an event there on a small budget and the whole team was a joy to work with. They could not have been more wonderful and accommodating. I called Danny to ask about party reservations and let him know exactly what we needed (which required a lot of flexibility) and he easily found a way to accommodate us. On the day of the event he was so kind and helpful and you could tell he really wanted us to have an amazing experience. Both Mary and Ian checked in with me almost as soon as I walked in and consistently through the night, offering me water while I waited for my group to arrive, just generally chatting and making me feel comfortable and welcome. The food was delicious (the chocolate chip cookie was my favorite) and multiple people in my group commented on how cute the space was, but the people who worked there really made the experience.
