I'm going to preface and say I've been to Buttermilk plenty of times and the service has always been excellent. Today was just a terrible experience. We understood that it was going to be busy with Mother's Day so I created a notification the day before to let me know when to join the waitlist. I joined Sunday morning at 7:30 and was notified it was going to be about a 90 minute wait. No problem. I checked-in with the host at 8:55am like instructed and stood there for a good minute or so while the 2 hostesses were busy chatting. Strike 1. Anyway, we get seated in the outdoor patio about 30 minutes later and were NOT acknowledged by a server for a good 20 minutes. The table that sat down AFTER us was acknowledged and had their drink and food order taken and we had yet to be acknowledged. We flagged down, what I believed was the manager, informed her we hadn't seen our server, so she took our drink order. She brings our drinks and accidentally spilled milk on my sister. Strike 2. The server who acknowledged the table next to us comes over and asks a what a frown on her face and asks "What do you guys want?" Um ok, no smile, no pleasantries, just a bad attitude. Like we were to blame it was BUSY. Strike 3. She never ONCE came over to ask if we needed anything after the food runner dropped off food. In fact, we had 3 different servers ask us if we needed anything. We had to flag down a bus boy for more water because it looked like EVERY table had a water carafe except us. We normally don't complain about service because we know a lot of things are different post COVID but today was just a downright terrible experience at Buttermilk. Sorry Buttermilk, but it will be a while before I visit again.

We have visited this location before and it was ok. Went with a friend for a Saturday breakfast yesterday and I was disappointed. The food was ok. The eggs were good but the potatoes were overdone on the outside and too firm on the inside. I ordered blueberry pancakes and some of the batter was birthday cake or something. Now if I were five that would have been cool but just not what I ordered. The server was excellent but some of the other staff stood at the desk staring and commenting to one another about the patrons. That’s both rude and disrespectful. Will not visit or recommend this restaurant. This is not the dining experience that I expected or paid for.
