We were looking forward to trying our Byron Fresh because of all the great reviews about it! Unfortunately our experience left us unimpressed, and very turned off by what appears to be a trend in the area—looks great outside but lacks care for what counts. You’d think an avocado toast couldn’t go wrong but despite the mountain of garnish, the whole thing tasted unseasoned, directionless and absolutely nowhere near what it was priced to be. The $4.50 feta clumps we added on the side couldn’t even save it. The salmon bagel was $26 from memory, and despite having run through half a dozen restaurants in search of this craving, I actually felt regret that we settled here to eat it. I’m not sure I would have known the breading was a bagel aside from its shape. The salmon was minimal, the salad underdressed, and the whole dish was drowned out by the cream shmear. We did think the decor was lovely. Clearly this is a popular place to visit, and the rustic details and seating look very well looked after. Staff were polite. We really did wish we could say we enjoyed it but I think I’d have to call this a typical tourist trap. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: A$20–40
