This is a conflicting review for me. First I want to start with the positives: this place has amazing food!!! I’ve always loved the atmosphere, and I’ve never had a bad server. That part is *chefs kiss* - and if this is a one-off experience for you, you will absolutely enjoy it! My issue lies with the constant changes and lack of reward for your patronage. My husband and I, along with friends and family, have been going to C Ellets for YEARS. It’s my favorite restaurant. It’s always my first choice for my birthday or any special event. We used to enjoy the happy hour specials on the patio for a long time. Over time, they chiseled away at the happy hour and eventually it was only offered if you sit at the bar on non-game days. Fine. Business is business. While it was disappointing for us, we still continued to come and pay full price for our favorite items because I loved this place so much. This week I want to book a table for 10 for my family. Most of our family is 65+ and coming from out of town. C Ellet’s now requires that a party if this size be booked as a private party in the club room with a hefty food/bev min and a 50% deposit. I’ve seen larger groups seated at the front tables next to each other before, but they told me that wasn’t an option. The deposit makes it awkward for our family to split the bill. I can see how it makes sense for a rehearsal dinner or business event, but we just wanted to have dinner together. Additionally, two years ago, my husband booked a table for 6 for my birthday and C Ellets simply gave us the club room without asking and without any money-up-front-business. For a 5PM spot, I just hoped they could be more accommodating or flexible. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
