We had a set tasting menu, but the menu was quickly taken away by the server, so we didn't know what we were tasting. The food was served very slowly. So slow in fact that the tables next to us were asked to pay quickly because the next set of guests had already arrived and needed their table. With the exception of the very last desert dish, which most guests didn't finish, the food was pretty good and well plated, although quite bizarrely the plating was not consistent for all guests. The seating arrangement felt quite cramped. Where there were 6 tables there probably should have only been 4. The price was quite fair, and the wine pairing is a good price. The main dish of the tasting menu was wagyu beef. This was interesting as it in an Australian restaurant. Price per person: $2,000+ Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

I rarely write negative reviews, but unfortunately this was a disappointing birthday dinner. We spent 7K for two people with expectations, but the food quality and overall balance did not meet the price point. Several dishes were overly spicy, sweet, or salty, which made them difficult to fully enjoy. We were celebrating a birthday, and when the waitress brought out the cake and lit the candles, we kindly asked if she could help us take a quick photo while the candles were still lit. She told us she would do it later and declined at that moment, so we took photos ourselves and continued with the cake. About 20 minutes later, when the same waitress returned with the bill, she seemed to realize she had forgotten and then asked:「你們還需要拍照嗎?」 By then, the moment had already passed, which made it feel like an afterthought. In addition, our wine had not yet been finished, but the staff appeared eager to clear our glasses, which made us feel slightly rushed. For a restaurant at this level, we expected more attentive and thoughtful service. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. Price per person: $2,000+ Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Had a wonderful dinner at Canvas last night — easily one of the best date-night spots in Taipei! The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between relaxed and refined — cozy lighting, great food and an intimate vibe that makes you want to just kick back and enjoy the night. Every dish we had was outstanding. We ordered a bit of everything (see pics) Here are the Standouts: The Lobster with Pasta (must pre-order) was the star of the night — perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Australian Wagyu Tri Tip was beautifully tender (mid-rare) and full of depth. Wagyu Tartare Tart was a creative standout that showed real attention to detail. We also loved the Scallop Crudo, which was super fresh, delicate, and balanced. Beyond the food, the service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. For the quality and experience, it’s incredible value — this place deserves to be on everyone’s radar. Highly recommend Canvas for anyone looking for a great meal, thoughtful service, and a memorable night out. Perfect for dates or any special evening!
