I was looking for a convenient spot midway along my route and decided to try CARNEb, largely due to its impressive 4.8 rating. From the moment I walked in, everything about the environment, from the decor to the professionalism of the waitstaff and cooks, suggested that the high rating was well-deserved. Once seated, the service continued to impress. So far, everything seemed on point. Then, the fries arrived - unfortunately, they were a letdown. They were tasteless, with a brown exterior but undercooked inside, suggesting they weren’t fried properly. Next came the burgers, which looked great but fell shorts of the five-star standard I was hoping for. While the ingredients were clearly of high quality, both burgers had subpar execution, making them solid three-star dishes rather than the exceptional experience I anticipated. I respect the hard work and dedication of the entire team, from management to the kitchen staff, and it’s clear that CARNEb strives to be the best it can be. Based the overall experience and their obvious commitment to excellence, I would still give them five stars. However, my last visit wasn’t quite up to that standard.
