I've visited this café three or four times, and initially I assumed my experience was a one-off or a misunderstanding. However, after multiple visits, it has become clear that there is a consistent pattern in the way customers are treated. The customer service is, frankly, some of the poorest + Classist/ Racist I have encountered. The lady [who wears a black Hijab] who greets customers at the front desk appears to have little understanding of hospitality. She rarely smiles, shows very little warmth or empathy, and often comes across as dismissive and unwelcoming. Whether this is due to stress, overwork, or something else entirely, the result is a customer experience that feels cold and unpleasant. There is also a manager, usually dressed in a suit jacket, who seems equally indifferent towards customers. On my first visit, I was informed that customers ordering only coffee must sit downstairs, while those ordering food must sit upstairs. This is, of course, a reasonable policy. My issue was never with the rule itself, but with the manner in which it was communicated and the rule changes as per your skin colour. The tone felt unnecessarily condescending and disrespectful. What concerns me more is a pattern I have repeatedly observed. On several occasions, I have noticed that Bangladeshi customers are directed downstairs depending on what they order. In contrast, white or European customers appear to be allowed upstairs even when they are only having coffee. After repeatedly witnessing it, it creates a very uncomfortable impression of unequal treatment. During my most recent visit, I asked for the bill and was addressed as "boss" rather than with a professional greeting. The bill was then casually tossed onto the table. These may seem like small details, but they reflect a complete lack of respect and professionalism. The disappointing part is that the coffee is actually quite good, and the croissants are enjoyable as well. Unfortunately, good food and drinks cannot compensate for poor customer service and an atmosphere that leaves customers feeling unwelcome. I will not be returning, nor would I recommend this establishment to others. Hospitality is about making all customers feel valued and respected. Since, no groups or pages are responding to my complaints, nor approving my posts in the groups (yeah not even Bangladesh Eats, as of yet. Been 5 hours already), so Google review it is then. So, my fiancee and I went to C'paris to have some desserts, try few drinks after our lunch. We had ordered a slice cake (which was very generic), an iced mocha and an iced salted caramel latte. Now, while I was stirring the caramel latte, I found a bug, I believe it's a little cockroach. We called the waiter, they informed the manager. They were apologetic and all. But this absolutely ruined our appetite. Not only they've failed to maintain hygiene but they've risked our health. C'Paris has made a lot of publicity through vloggers and influencers, people we seek to regarding trustworthy reviews. Everything was mediocre obviously, but that wouldn't have prompted me to write a review. The most I would've done was probably tell my friends about the mid experience. But my gosh, this experience left us so confused. We couldn't be angry even because it was incomprehensible. For a so-called aesthetic, fancy-ish cafe/restaurant, the standards will always remain high by default. I wouldn't dare expect a literal cockroach in my drink which costs around 500-600 BDT. Even a tong wouldn't have that. Not a fly, not a bee, not ants..a literal cockroach. Now imagine this, if it were a blended drink. I would've never guessed it. I'd finish the drink without even knowing it. So yeah, if you still want to go, sure up to you. If they take accountability then good for them, but I can't possibly go there ever. Not that it would matter to them in terms of running the business but whatever. They were very apologetic however, tried to offer us complimentary desserts (two macaroons which looked even more unappetizing after such horrid experience), and another drink. We sat there for a minute trying to process what just happened and then told them that it's still unacceptable to us, so we can't accept their apology or their complimentary desserts and drink. We left. We didn't pay, but they didn't make a scene since they knew they messed up. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
