My experience at Crest Birubi Beach this morning was incredibly disappointing due to the abhorrent behavior of the staff, particularly a young man who was working at the front. Arriving with my partner and beloved dog at 9 am on Tuesday, March 26th, I was hoping for a pleasant breakfast overlooking the sea. However, my expectations were shattered from the moment we stepped foot in the establishment. Despite the abundance of dogs on the beach, the restaurant lacked outdoor seating, which meant I couldn't enjoy a coffee with my furry companion by my side. Reluctantly leaving my dog outside, I opted to sit indoors, as close to him as possible. As I was preparing a spot for my dog outside, a group approached the table nearest to him, which I had intended to occupy. Politely, I asked if they would mind relinquishing the table, explaining that I had my dog outside. To my relief, they graciously agreed. However, my relief was short-lived as a young staff member intervened, adamantly instructing the group not to relocate. Attempting to reason with him, I explained the situation, detailing how I had been outside preparing my dog for several minutes. Unfortunately, my efforts fell on deaf ears as the staff member proceeded to berate me, raising his voice and hurling accusations. His blatant disregard for customer service and lack of empathy left me stunned and distressed. I've never encountered such appalling behavior in any establishment, let alone one in such a picturesque location. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this restaurant and would caution others against subjecting themselves to such deplorable treatment. It's truly disheartening to witness how a single staff member can tarnish the reputation of an entire establishment with their rudeness and disrespect towards customers. It was my birthday....The place was busy granted...were told to wait on a waiting list by lady in the restaurant part who advised we can get take away next door as well. We gave our number , and decided to order something small from the take away as recommended. As I was ordering a steak sandwich (Which costs $27.00) I asked the young girl to hold the bacon as we dont eat pork, at this point a male who heard me, yelled at me very rudely from behind the girl, "NO CHANGES TO THE MENU, CANT YOU SEE HOW BUSY WE ARE"!! Even the poor girl was taken aback and flustered at the mans rudeness. She decided to take my order any way. Halfway through placing my order the lady from the restaurant part came running out and confronted me by asking abruptly what i was doing. I informed her that we were merely ordering something small to eat whilst we were waiting for our table to be empty. She said theres no need to order at the takeaway, she cancelled my order without consulting me and told me to go and sit at a table, despite it being her idea in the first place. At this point I noticed numerous empty tables. I also noticed some patrons were leaving their plates half eaten, not all... but some! This is not a good sign. We sat for 2 minutes when I decided that I was probably not going to get what I wanted to order based on the male owners rudeness to me earlier. I also like my meat well done, and it's rare that I get my food cooked the way I like it. My daughters looked at the menu and couldn't really see anything they liked. All these factors combined we thought it best to skip the place. We got up and went to the lady apologised and said that based on the facts above, we had changed our minds. I was very polite, they were busy, we hadn't ordered anything and had not inconvenienced them in any way. Her response very rudely to me was, "Next time check our menu before you decide to come in?!?!? I was Shocked. We were never given the opportunity to look st a menu, there was no menu posted outside, and we were rushed at all stages. I still chose to be polite despite the obvious spoilt nature and rudeness and disrespect that they had they had shown us. I said look it's okay, you have plenty of tourists and you said that your very busy, so it's fine and you will be okay. She continued to give us attitude and basically gave us death stares. This review is 100 percent exactly what happened and I have not exaggerated any part of the incident. By being the only cafe/restaurant in the vicinity with granted, million dollar views, I think they have become arrogant and very rude. I have never wrote a review on any place before but it was my birthday and they upset my whole family by their behaviour. I expect that they will counter with lies and stories. Establishments such as this should remember times during covid when they would have shut down and not treat customers during good periods as rubbish!
