Love this placeStepping into the 12-acre garden feels like being instantly transported to the middle of the Mexican desert. The scale of the place is incredible, boasting thousands of unique cacti and succulents. It is a brilliant spot for photography, with endless Instagram-worthy backdrops and walking trails that let you wander at your own pace. After spending a few hours exploring the grounds, we stopped by their onsite café, and the food was a fantastic surprise. The pulled beef nachos and margaritas were the perfect way to cap off the walk. Be sure to try their famous cactus cake and cactus jam, too!

Cactus Country you certainly didn’t disappoint. My wife and I went there for a drive and a bite to eat today. The young German Lady that served us was Polite and very Knowledgeable about everything she took our order swiftly and the food came out very promptly. My Husband had the Tacos with pulled port and I had the tortillas with pulled pork. Both meals were wonderful. We will definitely be back!

Thank you so much for the kind words! It's wonderful to hear you both enjoyed your visit and that the food hit the mark. Our German team member will be so happy to know she made such a great impression — she really is a gem. Pulled pork tacos and tortillas are two of our favourites on the menu, so you chose well! We look forward to welcoming you back next time you're passing through. Warm regards, Julie

I visited Cactus Country in February 2026 with my mum while I was up her way for the week. We went on a Thursday afternoon, so it was pretty quiet and such a nice, relaxed way to explore. From the front it doesn’t look like much, but once you head through to the back it completely opens up into this massive cactus wonderland. We parked near reception and walked in, and I immediately loved the whole vibe. It’s very Mexican inspired with desert tones that fit the space perfectly. The reception area is open and overlooks the farm, with toilets and a little shop where you can buy your own cactus. I picked up the cutest Groot cactus! I’m obsessed with it, the little cactus hair is adorable. It was a bit pricey, but knowing it supports the farm and the team made it feel worth it because you can really see how much love and effort goes into the place. Outside there are seating areas and lots of cute spots to sit, eat, or just take everything in before or after exploring. We ended up wandering around for a couple of hours and honestly only stopped because of the heat as there was still so much we didn’t get to see. One of my favourite spots was the little chapel style building up on the hill. It’s such a great lookout and I can totally see why people come here for photos and shoots. We also chatted to some of the staff about the cacti while exploring, and the owner was so lovely and helped answer more of our questions when we headed back in. The gift shop has so many cool things, including cactus based products which I found really interesting. There’s also an air conditioned dining area and plenty of food options, but we’d already eaten nearby so just grabbed some cold drinks before heading off. Overall, I can’t speak highly enough of this place. It’s such a unique experience and you can really feel the passion behind it. It’s definitely one of the biggest cactus farms in Australia and it’s 100% worth the trip out. I had the best time exploring and would absolutely recommend it, just maybe keep an eye on kids because well, cacti!

Hi Asley, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. It truly means a lot to our whole team to read experiences like yours. We love hearing how the farm “opens up” once you head through the entrance — that surprise element is something many visitors mention, and it’s wonderful to know you felt that same sense of discovery. Your description of the vibe, the colours and the relaxed feel of the place really captures what we hope people experience when they visit. We’re very glad you found a little Groot cactus to take home! They’re hard to resist. Knowing that you felt your purchase was worthwhile because you could see the care that goes into the farm is especially meaningful to us, as that love and effort is exactly what keeps this place growing. The chapel on the hill is a favourite for many, and it’s lovely to hear it was a highlight for you as well, we refer to it as The Dome, but I like The Chapel idea. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to the staff and owner — they’ll be thrilled to know they made your visit even more enjoyable. Thank you again for recommending us and for your gentle warning about kids and cacti — very wise advice! We hope you and your mum can visit again when you’re next up this way and explore the parts you didn’t quite get to see. Warm regards, The Cactus Country Team
