Come here for a drink after a long walk around Goddess of Mercy Temple (Kuan Yin Teng). The menu of Mediterranean cuisine is recommended to try at this cafe. It's easy to find Cafe 55 due to the convenient location. Serving perfectly cooked salads, pasta and prawns is the unique characteristic of this place. Come here for good pancakes, cheesecakes and tiramisu if you are hungry. It's nice to order delicious wine. You will appreciate great cappuccino, fresh juices or iced coffee at this spot.
Many visitors consider the staff knowledgeable. The terrific service is something these restaurateurs care about. Prices at this cafe are worth attention since they're reasonable. This is so sad, Penang has not recovered from the pandemic. I revisited after 5 years and Cafe 55 has gone due to lockdown. A cafe which is an art gallery, which also used to roast coffee and has a small museum below the accommodation provided for travellers. A real gem of a find, we stumbled across this cafe early in the morning when out on a photo walk in the Love Lane area. The food was delicious and everyone was so friendly. We decided to go back for lunch the following day. You won't be disappointed, a perfect place to stop when exploring George Town.

Thanks, John, for your kind review.It has been a tough 2 1/2 years but we are planning to open the hotel again on December 1st. The restaurant is already opened, serving Austrian/Western food. The art gallery is also open for viewing too, daily from 11am-5pm.See you sometimes around!Stefan
