Not sure if this was a fluke but my husband and I went here to grab a quick bite before heading to the beach and they weren't open! It says they Open a 9 but there was not one person in they building and no lights on. It's just such a shame because everything looked delicious.

Saw this on the internet and thought, wow a Hungarian restaurant!  My friends and I went for dinner and really enjoyed our meals.  Gulyas soup was very tasty, but I wish they had it as an entree!  My friends had the Hungarian roast and the Schnitzel with rosemary potatoes.  Raves all around.  They also shared a cherry strudel - yum!  It did take awhile for the food, but well worth the wait.

So many words come to mind when I think of my visit to Cafe Au Lait, but only one word appropriately sums up this place: perfection! My boyfriend and I are visiting the Bradenton area for our anniversary. I fumbled around on Yelp for a good local cafe with good coffee and baked goods. I found a small handful of places but we settled on Cafe Au Lait because it was close to where we were staying. The cafe is relatively easy to find as it's off of a main road in a shopping plaza (there's a nail salon and a Subway next to it). We walked in to a cutely decorated, quaint little place with a sign that said to seat ourselves. We were acknowledged by the barista and she came over shortly with some menus and the daily specials. She was patient and friendly while we made our drink choices. I went with a hot tea and my boyfriend chose the toasted marshmallow macchiato. Our drinks came out pretty quickly and we placed our breakfast/brunch orders. We both got the breakfast sandwich, which is a croissant with scrambled, bacon and cheese served with a side of fruit. After placing our order, I noticed the barista bring over one of those horizon milk boxes (like a juice box, but milk) to a nearby table that had a baby. She said she thought she'd offer in case they wanted something for their little one. Very sweet woman indeed! Our food came out and the clean, simple display aired the passion that's evidently burning inside the cook at this place. How anyone can manage to get scrambled eggs to stay in place on a sandwich, blows my mind. The variety of fruit was sliced and arranged nicely on the plate. The croissant was everything a croissant should be... warm, flaky, and buttery (but not overly so). The eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon... oh my goodness... delicious. All of the fruit was perfectly ripe and tasty. When we finished, the barista asked if there was anything else we would like. We declined because we were both full and she brought our check. We I quoted her name and noticed that the business card that was sitting on the table was hers. As it turns out, she's the manager. We told her how excellent everything was and that we would definitely be back again. We are leaving for home tomorrow but we are seriously considering going again tomorrow morning, but if not, we will return on our next visit. Definitely worth the visit to this little gem!
