I lived on Brač for five years, and from experience, I can say that Barbara in Supetar is one of the best coffee shops. It's just about 100 meters from the harbor and opens early, even before the first ferry departs. The locals always enjoy a cup of coffee here before they ferry to Split, and the locals appreciate a good cup of coffee. The Italian influence is undeniable. They know how to make excellent coffee, and their ristretto is unbeatable, at least it was while I lived there. While the café's terrace and the row of tables on the pier are the coziest, on cold, windy winter days (during the bura winds), it's especially nice to go upstairs to the hidden, upper part. I've read many good books here for years, every morning, with a cup of coffee and a view of Split's panorama... :) I've always been satisfied with the staff and the quality, I should add, this was in the early 2000s.
