Very uncomfortable experience- in the middle of my meal, waitress asked if I was finished with my food! I said no (visibly still eating), and her response was “well we just closed, and they need the dishes.” I acknowledged my understanding, and started wrapping it up. Within minutes however, another person, possibly the manager, came over. She AGAIN states they’re now closed, and “doesn’t want me to be left sitting in the dark after they turn off the lights.” This was maybe 15 minutes after their closing time. At no point prior to my seating was I made aware of their hours. I would’ve happily taken my food to go, but instead got seated and then basically kicked out. This particular restaurant you also pay for the food AND TIP before even sitting. Why did I tip for staff and service that didn’t even allow me to eat my whole meal??? Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

I am surprised that Cafe Bistro hasn't had a Yelp review in over two years. I visited the restaurant after a day of shopping and had a great time. The ordering process was convenient, you order at the counter (including tip) and a server comes to your table to pick up the check and bring your order. I ordered the Steak Frite and my companion ordered the Salmon Nicoise Salad. The food came out quickly; my 8 oz strip streak (medium rare) was top notch, with blue cheese nuggets on top. The fries were terrific. It came with a kalamata olive aioli, whether this was for the fries or the steak, I'm unsure but I could have done without it and had ketchup instead. All in all, this restaurant is a sleeper hit in Novi and I would recommend to anyone
