After a long walk around Luther Burbank Home and Gardens, come to Café Carrusel and have a rest here. That's a nice idea to order tasty chilaquiles, chili and birria. You will appreciate good coffee at this place.
The hospitable staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. Prompt service is something clients like here. There is a spectacular atmosphere and terrific decor at this spot. But many people who use Google didn't give Café Carrusel a high rating.

I came here for my birthday because I’d heard so many good things and thought it would be the perfect girls’ outing. The café is absolutely adorable and has a great aesthetic, but unfortunately the experience didn’t quite live up to my expectations. First, I want to say that the staff was wonderful. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. My concerns are more about the overall experience than the employees themselves. The food was decent overall, but the prices were extremely high for what you receive. I don’t mind paying more for a unique experience, but many of the menu items felt overpriced. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito, and it was disappointing. It was mostly filled with large chunks of potatoes, with very little chorizo or the other ingredients. I ended up picking a lot of the potatoes out because there were so many. If you’re planning to eat here, I’d recommend trying something other than the breakfast burrito. The seating arrangement also made the experience uncomfortable. We were seated right next to the bathroom, and directly behind my chair were high chairs and food tray storage. Staff constantly had to squeeze behind me to grab items, and guests were frequently walking by, so my chair kept getting bumped. I know the staff was just doing their job, but I wish there had been more thought put into seating guests away from such a high-traffic storage area, especially when other tables were available. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was seeing older men sitting alone and staring at women throughout the café. Since this is such a female-oriented space, it took away from the comfortable atmosphere I was expecting. I understand the café can’t control who comes in, but it definitely affected my experience. Overall, I’m glad I got to experience it once, and I can see why people enjoy it, especially for the aesthetic. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t the experience I was hoping for, especially since I chose it to celebrate my birthday. I don’t see myself returning, but I’m glad I was able to try it for myself. I was really disappointed with our experience at Cafe Carrusel. I ordered the Cajun Ala Penne Pasta, and it was nothing like a traditional Cajun pasta. The sauce tasted like straight up ketchup instead of a creamy, flavorful Cajun sauce. The sausage also tasted like regular beef franks when I was expecting Cajun andouille style sausage. Overall, the dish lacked the bold Cajun flavors it advertised. My partner ordered the birria pizza, and unfortunately, it had almost no flavor. It was very bland and didn’t taste like birria should. My son ordered the kids’ cheeseburger, but it was so salty that he couldn’t even enjoy it. Even the Jamaica was disappointing. It didn’t taste like Jamaica at all and had a really, really weird taste that we couldn’t enjoy. We spent $79 on our meal, and it was incredibly disappointing. We even let the staff know how we felt about the food because we wanted to give them the opportunity to hear our concerns. We left feeling like we had wasted our money because none of the meals met our expectations. It was not worth eating here, and for the price, we expected much better quality and flavor. We were genuinely excited to try Cafe Carrusel, so this experience was frustrating and left us feeling let down. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back, and I hope the restaurant takes customer feedback seriously and improves the quality of its food. Overall the service was amazing just not the food.
