Wow! So happy to have discovered this little gem during our stay in Rome! The lovely owner took the time to explain each dish, you can see she really cares about the food and her customer’s experience. We had the beef tartare and shared a couple of vegetable side dishes. The tiramisu was out of this world! Portions were spot on, and I can honestly say that this meal rates as one of our best in Italy. If we were staying longer, I would definitely go back for a second meal here. Highly recommended!! Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

On a rainy November evening, we decided to return to Cafè Corrientes, to try what according to all the flattering reviews is the main dish, the meat. The restaurant offers high-level Argentine cuisine, in a warm and welcoming environment in the Monteverde district of Rome, a residential area near the Tiber. Furnished with taste and originality, it recalls the colors and atmospheres of the South American country. The staff is attentive and competent, welcomed us with courtesy and recommended the dishes best suited to our palate. We started with a Corrientes appetizer, consisting of a sample of house empanadas, an excellent pork carpaccio cooked at low temperature, two porcini arancini with parmesan sauce and a soup with croutons. The starter was plentiful and tasty. Then we continued with a first course, a soup of beans and maltagliati, hot and creamy, perfect for warming the palate, also excellent, even if the pasta was a little too al dente for my tastes, but this is a negligible detail. Then the main dish, a generous portion of good quality Danish rib, chosen on site and cut before your eyes, then cooked to perfection on the exposed brazier, a detail that makes the environment even more characteristic. The meat was tender and tasty, with juicy flesh and cooked to perfection. As a side dish, some baked potatoes in their skins, which went well with the meat and an excellent green sauce. To end on a high note, we ordered a tiramisu, perfectly prepared according to the classic recipe with ladyfingers, mascarpone and coffee, a delight for the palate. Everything was accompanied by two glasses of a good red wine,  full-bodied and fruity, which enhanced the flavors of the dishes. The bill was adequate, considering the quality and quantity of the products. We left satisfied, to the point of promising to return as soon as possible. The only difficulty was finding parking, but it was worth it. Cafè Corrientes is a restaurant that knows how to win over its customers, with authentic and refined cuisine, and an intimate and romantic environment. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the thrill of a gastronomic trip to Argentina, without giving up the charm of Rome. Cafè Corrientes is a guarantee.
