Cafe Fiore has been on our romantic date night list for a couple years. We kind of pass by on our way to Genoa (via the Pioneer Trail), but once we're safely over the Kingsbury Grade, it's been hard to convince ourselves to go back over (and down), especially when wine with dinner and a night-time drive to Nevada is involved. However, on this trip, Gayle's Mom had a standing commitment, reservations were made (a must), and off we traveled to Ski Run Boulevard. Our recent dinner at Cafe Fiore was a memorable meal, and one which we're looking forward to trying again.  It's a small restaurant with 6 tables inside and maybe as many outside (except in winter). Our table for 2 was away from the windows and far enough away from hearing other conversations. I enjoyed the lighting, the wine racks along the upper wall, and the art.  The service was top notch and counted a total of 4 pleasant folks waiting on us at various stages of the meal and wine service. Our meal was a bit pricey, but Gayle and I both considered it a memorable splurge and well worth it.  Two entries, a bottle of superb Sonoma Pinot Noir, coffee, and their signature white chocolate ice cream totaled ~$172 including tip. Gayle's generous entree was Linguine Fra Diavolo - Mixed seafood combination tossed with linguine, finished in a spicy marinara sauce. She loved it and with enough left-over noodles to take home. My choice was Spaghetti Con Salsiccia - Spaghetti pasta tossed with Italian sausage, prosciutto, fresh tomatoes, spinach, crushed red chilies, garlic and olive oil.  This was not your traditional Spaghetti. The Italian Sausage (from the Sausage Factory in Carson City) was amazing and at par with those who are fans of Lockeford Meat & Sausage.  It's inclusion within the other ingredients was even better. Gayle and I shared the white chocolate ice cream, which was rich, luscious, and with memories of cookie batter. It was also one of those dishes that was probably too much food (even shared), but was good to the last drop. Before we drove back to Genoa, we took a long walk that led us through the nearby Farmer's Market and to the Lake.  We did it for exercise and to walk off our very filling "kick ass" meal.  And since we dined a bit longer (e.g. European style) at the restaurant, while sipping and savoring, the wine simply became part of the experience.  Our drive back over the Kingsbury was well lit, safe, and enjoyable.  We look forward to doing it again.
Excellent service especially from "Bill".  Ambiance is perfect and it's away from all the noise.  Food is excellent and the seafood is very fresh.
Fabulous restaurant. We have been customers for over 10 years. Pricey but definitely worth it. Romantic atmosphere. Everything is fabulous but the garlic bread and dessert are extraordinary. Great place for a special occasion.
