Cafe Gohan is a cozy cafeteria located in Kure on Kamagaricho Oura. Not widely listed across popular restaurant directories, it maintains a minimal profile on Google. Despite its low-key online presence, this café seems to be cherished by locals, often described as a hidden gem offering traditional dishes like okonomiyaki.
Visitors might find it challenging to spot due to its unassuming appearance—resembling a regular house—and the small signage. The café only provides dine-in and takeout options, without any delivery service. Accessibility may be limited as there are no wheelchair-accessible parking options mentioned, though it does offer a free parking lot.
Operating from Monday through Wednesday and on weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Cafe Gohan creates a homely atmosphere with a family-like ambiance reported by patrons. Recent reviews highlight friendly interactions with the owner and pleasant memories of simple comfort foods like okonomiyaki and unique side sweets. However, potential visitors should note that the café has set closing days and potentially intermittent information about its current operational status.

It was low season on a Wednesday. Most places nearby were closed, but this one was still open! And what a blessing. While there wasn't any okonomiyaki this time, I did have some delicious yakisoba. I had some fantastic conversations with the owner and other local here. The service was great as well. They gave me extra cookies and even a free refill of my coffee. The yakisoba and coffee were a total of ¥1000, so it's very affordable as well. Highly recommend. :) Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
