Nestled in the charming area of Saiwaicho, Cafe offers a modest cafe experience reminiscent of Showa-era Japan. Its features include a cozy ambiance for those looking to enjoy breakfast or lunch, with a focus on solo dining. While the establishment prides itself on its flavorful coffee and quick bites, be prepared for a no-frills cash-only environment.
The cafe is noted for being managed single-handedly by an elderly woman, adding to its nostalgic and homey atmosphere. Despite its old-fashioned vibe, where diners might initially hesitate to enter, guests can expect delightful home-cooked meals like Napolitan pasta and miso soup, which are skillfully prepared once ordered.
While there might be concerns due to a lack of accessibility features such as wheelchair accommodations, visitors who overcome this barrier tend to appreciate the hospitality. Potential patrons should note the absence of delivery services, encouraging newcomers to venture in for dine-in experiences. Operating from Monday to Friday, between 10 AM and 6 PM, the cafe's opening times and offerings reflect its traditional style, promising a warm visit to anyone in search of a slice of nostalgia at the heart of Higashikurume.
