Upstairs especially is a nice chill hangout with great view to the heart of Helsinki city centre. Downstairs seems to get quite busy and crowded more easily. Has a terrace as well. It is pricey but the salty/sweet bites are good quality. Price per person: €10–15

When you visit this cafe/bar, absolutely, for sure, you need to go upstairs! There is a great view, nice comfortable sofas and seats, and the atmosphere is great, especially when you can do laptop work and, of course, enjoy your beverage. On the upper floor, there is also a bar. The only downside is that they have very narrow stairs, which are also really steep. That might be a challenge, but if you want to earn something great, you have to go over obstacles, so it's just like a Finnish mökki experience. As a loyal customer i went to Café Java because I wanted to buy two entire big cakes as I had a dinner with many guests . When I went in, there were four clients wearing this Israeli flag and who was working didn’t say anything to them , not even the minimal sentence like” due to the actual circumstances and for the respect of people dying every day , we don’t allow any kind of Flag “ . Of course in front of this indifferent attitude from the staff , I left without buying anything and from today Cafe Java is in the list of the place to avoid at every costs !
