Café Landtmann, a classic Viennese establishment, offers traditional Austrian cuisine in an elegant and charming ambiance. The interior design boasts high ceilings, opulent furnishings, and wooden detailing that transports diners back in time. The prices are reasonable given the quality of service and atmosphere. Located on Universitatsring, opposite the magnificent Burgtheater, it's a must-visit spot for tourists and locals alike. Café Landtmann offers outdoor seating, perfect for people-watching while sipping on a Viennese coffee or enjoying a glass of wine.
The menu features classic Austrian dishes such as Wiener Schnitzel, Tafelspitz, and Backhuhn, as well as vegetarian options. The Prix-Fixe daily lunch special includes soup and beef roulades, a good value at 15 euros. For dessert, try the famous Maroniblüte or the king of desserts, the Kaiserschmarrn. There are also at least 18 different coffees to choose from, mostly laced with enough booze to warm you up on a cold day. The bar offers cocktails such as the Schlumberger Rose and Spritz, as well as soft drinks and a large selection of wines.
The service is impeccable, with staff dressed in tuxedos and attentive to every detail. Although there may be a queue, it's worth the wait, or make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment. Overall, Café Landtmann is a fine dining spot that should be on everyone's to-do list when in Vienna.

We visited the shop for sweets and coffee. The dessert was stale and the coffee like putting ice cubes in French.. I would say the service was ironic. Overrated for sure. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: €10–20 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Γλυκό
(April 2024) The food - Kaiserschmarrn (just under 16 euros) and Viennese melange (just under 7 euros) - was very tasty and came promptly. The staff seemed extremely professional and was very friendly. The interior and ambience also made it definitely worth the visit. Even though the price is a little higher, the visit to Café Landtmann was one of my highlights during my visit to Vienna. And that too, without having to wait in line like at well-known coffee houses (but a reservation is probably still recommended, as guests also had to wait after us).
