I had the Japanese fried rice omelet. It was quite interesting. From the buttery flavor in the eggs to the perfectly cooked and flavored rice. I recommend taking a bite of each part separately to see what I mean. It also came with ketchup on the side which added another interesting flavor. This was a great tasting meal. We went to this cafe multiple times and also ordered delivery a lot. We almost never had any issues with salty dishes, even though some of them were not to my liking. The lunches were also good. However with the sweet dishes, there’s always a problem. Last time we ordered cheese scones and it had the salty, onion-like aftertaste. We filed a complaint to the waiter, but not only he dismissed it, he also disagreed with the us and made a clear point that we were the ones who were not correct. Consequently, the question arises: why do you ask about how we liked the food, if you’re going to blame us for not liking it. We decided to disregard the situation and try another desert a couple of weeks later. Today, the issue with the aftertaste remained. We were highly disappointed , as other than that, the dish was quite nice. This time we decided to not give any comments, as the experience of sharing your opinion last time was not pleasant. After all, the restaurant is quite nice and some food is delicious. However for us it remains a no, due to the strange aftertaste of all the sweet dishes. I came to Riga from France and honestly didn’t know where to eat at first. I was staying in a nearby hostel and found Cafe Mimosa almost by accident — and I’m very happy I did. The place is cozy, stylish, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I would especially like to mention the manager. The manager was very professional, kind, and attentive, creating a warm and comfortable feeling from the very first moment. The food was excellent — fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Everything tasted balanced and high quality, you can feel the care in every detail. Great breakfast options and very good coffee as well. Overall, a perfect spot if you’re traveling, staying nearby, or just looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy good food. Highly recommended, I would definitely come back again.
