I gotta say, that was the best meatball sandwich I've ever had. And the breaded chicken sammy I had 2 days prior was its equal. Lots of oven ready dishes to take home as well. Ken Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We saw that there was a new cafe in town so we were excited to try a cup of Italian coffee. To our surprise, there was no coffee at this cafe. We laughed on the walk back to the car about how this was the first cafe we had been to that didn't serve coffee. The worker was kind at least!

Hi Rebecca — thanks for stopping by. We’re glad to hear our staff member was kind. Just to clarify, Café Postino Express is an extension of Café Postino in Almonte, which has been part of the community since 2011. While we didn’t originally create the name, “caffè” in Italian culture often refers more broadly to a gathering place for food, drinks, and conversation — not strictly a coffee shop. At Express, our focus is on Italian prepared foods, sandwiches, pastries, cannoli, pantry items, and specialty beverages. We understand the expectation for coffee based on the name. Being a small business is not always easy, and we’ll always continue trying to create spaces that add something positive to the community — even if they don’t fit the traditional mold everyone expects.

My husband and I recently moved to Carleton Place and I had seen posts for Cafe Postino Express on Facebook. We stopped in and picked up a lasagna and a shepherd’s pie to try. We had the lasagne for dinner tonight and it was delicious! Just the right amount of sauce and cheese with delicate pasta. Definitely made with love! This is a gem in Carleton Place and we will definitely be making it our go-to for everything pasta. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
