A standard favorite where everything is delicious and scallops melt in your mouth. The steaks are great, as are all of the sauces. If they have the mushroom soup on the menu, order it!.it's fabulous! Eating outside is always a nice option, too. Kid-friendliness: It's a small adult restaurant or for well behaved children. We ordered the pre fixe. We chose Escargot, Fillet Béarnaise, and Chocolate Mousse. The food was amazing! Service was impeccable. Jason was our server and he was so attentive and kind. So few French options in St. Louis make us go looking for the tried and true. We have visited Cafe Provencal for over twenty years and it's a favorite of ours. Friday and Saturday nights, the bar is tended by one, David Richter, who, if you've sat at his bar and had dinner, is a total hoot and floor show - not to say he's invasive, he is not! He's just a delight and big part of why we love Cafe Provencal. The food, ah, yum! Pates, escargot, good bread, great wines by the glass, beet salad to die for, entrees- all good. I see very little turnover in wait staff - we know the folks like working there.
