We came here with no prior knowledge of what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised! The food was absolutely delicious! So authentic and cooked with care. I felt like I was visiting someone's home. The service was also great! Definitely will go back again! What a wonderful surprise to find this gem!

Great Experience, Fatima served us very well and food was really great. Café Piyala & House of Nihari on Main St in Hamilton is easily one of the best Pakistani spots I’ve found outside Toronto. Everything here is cooked with care, the portions are generous, and the flavors are 100% authentic. 5 stars, and I’m already planning my next visit. Let’s start with the *Nihari*, because that’s what they’re named for – and they live up to it. The best Nihari I’ve had in Hamilton, hands down. Slow-cooked beef that falls apart with a spoon, rich, deep gravy with that signature spice and nalla masala aroma. Served piping hot with fresh naan, it’s comfort food at its finest. You can taste the hours that go into it. The *Chicken Karhai* was just as impressive. Tender chicken pieces, thick tomato-based gravy, fresh ginger, green chilies, and that smoky wok-heat you only get when it’s made right. Not greasy, not watery – perfect consistency to mop up with naan. For starters, the *Beef and Chicken Kababs* are a must. Both were juicy, well-seasoned, and charred just enough on the grill. They come out hot and you’ll fight over the last piece. Now for the fusion side – their *loaded fries* and *sliders* were a fun surprise. The loaded fries are piled high, crispy, and smothered in sauce and toppings without going soggy. The sliders are small but packed with flavor, great if you’re going with a group and want to try a few things. To finish, the *Karak Chai* is the real deal. Strong, creamy, perfectly sweet, and served hot in a proper cup. It cuts through all the spice and feels like the perfect end to a desi meal. Service is fast and friendly, the place is clean, and Main St location makes it easy to pop in. Whether you want traditional nihari, karhai, kababs, or something more casual like sliders and fries, Café Piyala delivers. If you’re craving real Pakistani food in Hamilton, this is the spot.
