Nestled near the Midmac Flyover on Salwa Road, Cafe Restaurant offers a distinct dining experience with a touch of nostalgia. This establishment may not capture the spotlight on mainstream restaurant directories, though it maintains a minimal presence on Zomato. If you visit, expect an atmosphere that balances historical charm with a slightly unconventional vibe.
While visitor reviews are scarce and dated, there is praise for the restaurant's accommodating staff and the quality of its food, particularly the perfectly cooked salmon. The cafe is noted to be a peaceful setting ideal for a quiet meal away from the bustling city life. However, detailed current information about Cafe Restaurant’s operating hours remains elusive.
For those contemplating a visit, be aware that this spot falls into the expensive pricing bracket, catering to those seeking a more exclusive dining experience. Information from the owners seems lacking, and the sparse data available might invite cautious curiosity for potential diners interested in exploring reminiscent yet less trodden culinary paths in Doha.

There is a TV lounge in the middle with a smoking white robed man on his phone; surrounding it were couches/tables by the windows that are blocked by seperators (secluded as expected by the Gulf family culture). It was disheartening to see and to sit inside with my wife.
I ordered their seafood pastry appetizer and the bouillabaisse. My wife got a grilled chicken breast with cream and herbs.
We got served a bread basket first, we received butter rolls that were quite tough and not appetizing.
The food though surprisingly great after all this build up. The seafood pastry was a mix of fish and octopus cooked in cream and stuffed in a layored buttery pastry. Every bite was great. The bouillabaisse came with some toast and extra soup base on the side. It tasted great, but was not as creamy as I would like. It was set to prioritize the seafood taste so less cream to cover the taste, but more salt to make things shine. It was delicious. None of the seafood in either dish was chewy, it was cooked just enough.
My wifes dish of chicken breast was nice also, and went well with the rice that came with it. It was a pretty thin cut, so it did not need a knife to eat it. Also was soft and not chewy.
I had a double espresso after and it was terrible. It used coffee beans better suited for Arabic/turkish style coffee. Wish they had some african or south american beans.
Overall, the food was great. The decore needs renovation not to look so old. The bread was a disgrace; and so was the coffee.
