The restaurant was not too crowded. I like hat there’s plenty of parking and no waiting. I also like the high tables and chairs. Plus I like the many self-serve drink choices along with plenty of napkins and plastic utensils. The food was tasty and the portions are generous. don’t let me forget that the flour tortillas are made on the premises and they’re delicious. I recommend, moreover I prefer Cafe Rio to Chipotle, just my opinion. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

By far the worst Cafe Rio food I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten at different Cafe Rio restaurants probably a hundred times and have never had food this bad at any other location. This visit, rather than shredded sweet pork, my salad had a solid 3”x3” chunk of fatty meat. There basically was no sauce with it, to mix with and flavor the beans and rice. There was also something on the salad that was extremely salty and sour, to the point that most bites I took were inedible. I dumped the toppings out and tried to eat the tortilla, which was also extremely salty where it was on the grill. Basically I threw away most of the meal and left. Take it from someone who loves Cafe Rio, don’t bother visiting this location. Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 2

My wife and I are huge Cafe Rio fans, and this was our first time at the Menifee location. Everyone was nice, but there were a couple sanitation issues that didn't sit well with us. They needed to refill the shredded chicken while we were there, and instead of replacing the old container, they just poured the new batch into all the old liquid. This is a wild amount of cross contamination and you should never be adding new food on top of old food. After they added it, they took a couple pieces of shredded chicken that had been sitting on the countertop and tossed them back into the chicken container. Food that falls onto the counter, that is cleaned with chemicals, should never be tossed back into product that is being served. There was one point where I took a bite of my nachos, and tasted an incredible strong, almost chemical-like taste. Like pool water. Maybe five minutes later, my wife tasted the exact same thing in one of her bites. It was pretty unsettling. The last issue was that I ordered an a la carte taco, and the pico that was added was not even slightly strained. It was so wet that I couldn't actually pick the taco up. It was completely drenched. The food we ordered was otherwise fine, but these really left us somewhat concerned about how sanitary this location's practices are. Meal type: Lunch Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
