I was so happy to find another café that’s actually open on Sundays, especially since most places in the area are closed. The café is beautifully decorated with plenty of seating and offers a nice selection of coffee, pastries, and even beer. The only downside was that it was quite warm inside because the air conditioning wasn’t on, and it was also hot outside. We ended up getting our drinks to go and enjoyed them while relaxing by the nearby water instead. Overall, it’s still a lovely café and a great option if you’re looking for a place that’s open on a Sunday. Meal type: Other Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I am lactose free and my partner gluten free, so finding tasty pastries that we both can enjoy is nearly impossible. Emphasis on the "tasty" part, knowing how many foods that we both can eat don't always taste great, let alone good. Café Tilia, hands down, makes the best vegan and gluten free waffles I have EVER had. The owner is wonderful, so kind and compassionate, and the atmosphere is a dream. I will miss Freiburg immensely, and most of all spending my afternoons at Café Tilia with such wonderful people in such a wonderful space.
