The latte I had was amazing and the bap's are so nice. The ladies serve you with a smile and a chat while the food and drink is being prepared. I would recommend caféDelmar to all friends and family who visit Torquay. Service: Take out Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The cold, bitter, frosty old lady who works at Delmar, (who I assume is the owner) is very ill mannered, rude and and had zero customer service skills at all. It's beyond me how people who are this disgustingly rude work with people. The younger staff are very pleasant and I always have a laugh and a joke with them- I even tip generously. I will not ever return. I run and admin many groups on social media locally of several thousand members and will certainly be posting to avoid this establishment. I've never met anyone so poorly mannered, you reep what you sew in life. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

You entered the cafe sat on a 2 seated table , then moved to the outside seating area , then moved again to a 4 seated table! Ordered breakfast with a coffee from my pleasant member of staff , you told her coffee was wrong, you wanted a strong black coffee ( didn’t specify no milk ) of which she changed for you . My then new 16 yr old member of staff came with your food , unsure of where it was going as you’d moved tables twice . You told her you didn’t want butter melted on your toast and wanted proper butter on the side-of dry toast in an unpleasant rude manner, leaving her feeling like she didn’t want to come back out onto the shop floor . Whilst I was talking to her,my other pleasant front of house team member was watching you toss the toast about the table saying it’s disgusting . She was quite shocked by this and thought your family members looked embarrassed. I then came out myself with the butter and rest of your order because the young girl wouldn’t ! You then complained to me about wrong coffee, food going to the wrong table ( of which you moved ) I asked you if you’d requested for it not to be buttered and you said no ! So I said unless you ask we always butter the toast hot so butter melts ! You thought ‘I’ was rude and said you wouldn’t be back. I replied “you’ve been rude before”and that’s up to you The thing that is important here is a young girl who was enjoying her first experience in a work environment now feels nervous and anxious ! Why should anyone be spoken to or made feel uncomfortable whilst or because they are waiting tables . We pride ourselves in the fact that we have such a friendly community cafe and feel really disappointed that you’ve reacted this way , calling me a cold, bitter frosty old lady , which I am anything but ! Regards from the cold , bitter frosty old lady More
