Went here solely for a coffee and cake. Was immediately struck by the decor, which attempts to look elite and imperial, but has a Franco Cozzo quality to it at the same time. The cakes on offer are decent - the chocolate mousse cake had a good level of smoothness and solidarity at the same time. However, the coffee is quite disappointing given that coffee is a part of the restaurant’s name. The cappuccino tastes very much like an instant variety or one from a bad machine.
HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT ... you get excited about the fancy chandeliers and tables so you think that you are going to have good food
Well not this time !!
Everything was so beyond expectations
We ordered:
Lemon meringue tart: soggy crust, grainy meringue... the curd was ok
Mille feuille: disgusting cream, it wasnt a pastry cream, nor whipped cream, nor butter cream ... it was an awful textured flavourless cream and to top it off the puff pastry was also soggy
The chocolate cake had too much cream and was dry
The strawberry cake was also dry and stale
No to mention that our lattes were served cold :)
Terrible experience, not recomended
