We spent 10 days at the Costa Brava end of May/beginning of June and our visit at Calau was on May 31st. We heard about this place from others who were very thrilled and strongly recommended it to us. They also told us to come early because Calau is so popular that there might be a cue or hungry people waiting before the restaurant even opens its doors. We did go early and 30 minutes before opening there was already about a dozen people waiting. So we live up as well and by the time the restaurant actually opened the line is people was already almost down to the beach! But the wait was worth it! An overwhelming selection of pinxos and tapas presented at the buffet and every couple of minutes the waiters brought more warm/hot tapas on plates to the tables to choose from. It was just amazing. I must add that we expected to spend a little more money on this dinner but with 2 grown-ups and 2 kids full and satisfied and wine, Aperol, sparkling water and sprite for drinks we only paid about 80 euros. Never time we come to Palafrugell we will definitely come back for more. Thanks for a perfect finish of an already great day! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €10–20
