I decided to visit during week day for quick lunch as it’s just a minute from my house. I’m not sure if I was lucky reading the previous reviews, but I loved what I ordered and my service was excellent from the door to the manager Andre and all the waiters. I loved that they still have shamusas and risoishes, I liked them so much that I took home extra 12 each and they taste the same as I remember 33 years ago on the same place. I liked the taste of my grilled lobster, but in size was too small and only the one, compare to Sagres restaurant size and quantity lobster dish where you get 3 huge in size lobsters with salad and chips in one big plate There is room for improvements - maybe the Italian owner of Maritimo restaurant - who is apparently owner of this restaurant too, can try to bring what we used to come for to club Naval and be a lot more flexible with the menu and use more garlic with the seafood. Very disappointing experience! We were in 4 and the order was : Seafood rice, Sushi, Grilled Salmon and a Steak filet mignon - Reminder this is on a Sunday December 27th so the restaurant was not full house. We waited a long while and the filet mignon came as prego sandwich we sent it back and after a LONG 1hour and half the filet mignon came and has GONE BAD. We are in premium location, with premium prices but not serious on offering a PREMIUM Service - let’s think about it

Calypso Restaurant: Stunning Views, Disappointing Experience Calypso restaurant is wonderfully located. You overlook the Indian Ocean and enjoy a refreshing sea breeze as the waves crash along the bank — a truly scenic spot. The ambiance is excellent, but the service and food quality fall far short of expectations. The staff seem inattentive and poorly trained, often taking too long to attend to customers and showing little enthusiasm. Once the orders are taken, they disappear, only to return with mixed-up or poorly presented plates. I ordered a chicken curry, which was undercooked. My wife had a prego roll — the beef was overcooked and tough. It’s clear that the kitchen lacks proper culinary skill, and the waitstaff need further training. What makes it more disappointing is that Calypso charges premium prices, relying heavily on its location rather than the quality of its food or service. The restaurant carries a Greek theme yet serves mostly Portuguese dishes, creating an identity crisis that reflects its overall inconsistency. Calypso has potential, but only if it undergoes a complete overhaul — from management and menu design to service training and kitchen standards. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
