Take a seat at one of the tables at C&J Barbeque

A lot of people point out that waiters serve perfectly cooked smoked turkey, sliced brisket and Bbq pork ribs here. This bbq may please you with tasty peach cobbler, banana pudding and banana dessert. It's time to degustate delicious tea.

C&J Barbeque with takeout food is good for those visitors who like to have dinner in a hurry. The staff is patient that's what makes this place so nice. Cool service is something that guests note in their reviews. You are to be pleasantly impressed with good prices at this spot. Many reviewers say that the atmosphere is calm here. This bbq is rated on Google 4.3 by its clients.

The prices at this establishment have increased significantly, but unfortunately the level of customer service has not kept pace with those higher costs. Whenever I make a specific request, it often feels as though I am asking for an unreasonable favor rather than simply requesting the service I am paying for. One of my favorite items has always been the fried okra, which is excellent when served fresh. However, it is often left sitting under a heat lamp, causing it to become dry and soggy. I frequently request fresh okra, but I am sometimes told "no" or informed that it will take 15–20 minutes, despite fried okra typically requiring only a few minutes to prepare. Another disappointment is the additional charge for lean brisket. Not only is there now a $1 surcharge, but the brisket often does not arrive as lean as requested. Paying extra for a specific preference should result in that request being honored consistently. It is disappointing to see these changes at a restaurant whose barbecue I have enjoyed for many years. While the food can still be very good, the combination of rising prices and increasingly negative or dismissive customer service has made the overall experience far less enjoyable. At this point, the quality of the food alone is no longer enough to justify the cost and frustration. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We hate to hear that your recent visits haven't lived up to the experience you've enjoyed with us over the years. Regarding the fried okra, our goal is always to serve it fresh. The only time we would decline a request for fresh okra is if a batch has just come out and is already fresh. We're also not sure why anyone would have quoted a 15-20 minute wait, as a fresh batch typically takes 5-6 minutes. As for lean brisket, the additional charge for lean meat is not new and has been part of the menu for many years. If you paid for lean brisket and did not receive it, that's something we would absolutely want the opportunity to correct at your time of visit. You're also correct that prices have increased over the years. Like every restaurant, we've faced significant increases in the cost of meat, labor, utilities and supplies. We've worked hard to keep those increases as reasonable as possible while continuing to serve the same quality our customers expect. Most concerning to us if your perception of the service you received. We never want a customer to feel like they're being treated as an inconvenience for asking a question or making a request. We appreciate your many years of business and your honest feedback.

I'm not much for BBQ but my husband and son eat it a lot, normally the location on Harvey road. Today my son went to the Briargate location for takeout, here is how we rated the food and service here. Me - 1 meat plate with chicken, pasta salad and greens, mine was okay, portion size was good for the daily special and came with a drink Son - 2 meat plate with brisket and sausage with both sides of mac and cheese, his meat portions looked like they were half of what he normally gets and said the mac and cheese was just alright. Husband - 1 meat plate with turkey ranch potatoes and pinto beans, husband immediately remarked on how small the turkey portion was and that it was DRY, worst he had ever had from C&J. In addition our son said he had to ask for bread and when he got back to our house with the order there was no BBQ sauce, onions or pickles. Takeaway - they may try the Harvey road location again this next week when working in that area but neither would be back to the Briargate location. My son said this was not the first time he has gone through the drive thru there and it's never as good or substantial and dining in. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 2

Thank you for taking the time to leave detailed feedback. We're sorry to hear your family's visit to the Briargate location didn't meet expectations. We do want to apologize for not including sauce, pickles and onions. The drive-thru person should always ask if you want those items included. We also want to mention that all of our meats are weighed on a scale before being plated, so the portion size should be the same whether you're dining in, ordering takeout, or using the drive thru. We hate hearing that your family felt the portions weren't what they expected. Most importantly, we're sorry to hear about the dry turkey. That's feedback we take seriously. We appreciate your family's longtime support of C&J and hope we'll have an opportunity to earn back your confidence.
