Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking.
Simple standard.

It's tiny and tight but stylish at Cane, referencing Trinidad's history of producing sugar cane. With brightly colored shutters and pastel artwork, there's a definite tropical vibe about this place, where one wall even boasts a picture of former President Obama eating a double... More info

Why does Cane continue to do this?? Consistently deliver delicious food with great service that makes you feel like family! The crispy kale was fantastic and the mango chutney balances a hint of spice. I got the omnivore paratha tiffin box with tomato Choka and I got roti instead of paratha. Fantastic decision! Great moments! That roti was spectacular! The Charon Beni was my favorite sauce and I enjoyed the heat of the house pepper sauce. They did a nice interior upgrade since the last time I went, but it’s still small and intimate. I love recommending this place!! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes

This was our 1st meal in DC. It is definitely worth reserving your spot before arrival as the restaurant is quite small. My daughter dined on oxtail stew, coconut rice and fried plantains, really went down well. I had a fish dish which requires time n patience due to the bones, with coconut rice n vegetables. I really loved their coconut rice which was v subtle n not overpowering. I tried the beef hot pie which was fried. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–60 Dietary restrictions: Our party had a diary n a nut allergy
