Caneton is truly a gem in the heart of downtown Rennes. My wife and I chose it to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary and hosted around 20 friends and family members—and it could not have been a better choice. Leading up to the event, the staff were communicative, professional, and worked closely with us to design a fantastic menu. On the day itself, they exceeded expectations. The team was warm, attentive, and bilingual, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout the evening. The food was exceptional. Highlights included the tender, succulent duck confit, a refreshing and creative melon gazpacho, and a trio of homemade desserts that were perfectly balanced—not overly sweet or heavy, but a refined way to end a memorable meal. The wine pairings were also expertly chosen and well presented. If you're in Rennes and looking for a thoughtful, delicious dining experience delivered by a young and professional team, Caneton is absolutely worth a visit.
