Boardwalk restaurants are usually high priced and low quality, but this was not at all the case with Capt'n Jack's. Our expectations were exceeded during our visit in the September shoulder season. We ordered the Capt'n Jack's Chicken sandwich and the Pulled Pork sandwich. Both were served on a proper bun - firm but soft - which can make or break any sandwich or burger. This one makes it. The Capt'n Jack's Chicken was more inventive that your typical boring grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato - instead, this one features the tropical tanginess you might expect from an "island grill" with pineapple, which played well alongside the comfortingly creamy mustard. The pulled pork was also excellent and tasted like it was fresh out of the smoker. A bit smoky, a bit sweet, and an adequate amount sauce without drowning it or making it hard to eat. This one also differs slightly from most pulled pork sandwiches with a healthy smothering of cheese - it's less common for pulled pork but delicious and certainly welcome on my plate. I often consider the pulled pork sandwich to be a good barometer for any bar & grill since not all pulled pork is created equal. This one stands above the pack. Both sandwiches were served with crinkle cut fries nicely done and dusted with Old Bay. Indoor seating is available. We opted to sit outside, which was a bit windy... but the panoramic view of the ocean and Mariner's Pier made it well worth it.
Nice place, it's on the boardwalk so it is a little pricey. Grab a table by the rail and watch the people walk the boards.
Can't really review this place...it was closed. Google said open til 5PM, but sign says only open Saturday and Sunday. Have to try again on weekend.
