We visited this bar in October 2025 while travelling through Italy for about two weeks. Unfortunately, this was the one experience that left us with a very sour memory. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday and my friend’s birthday, which happen to fall on the same day. When we entered, we had a custom birthday cake with us and specifically told the host that we planned to cut it around midnight while enjoying some food and drinks. She was very welcoming and had no issue with it. After we were seated, we were told the kitchen was closed and that only drinks were available. We completely understood and continued ordering several rounds of drinks. As it got closer to midnight, a manager/owner came specifically to our table and told us that we were not allowed to cut our cake there. We respected what we were told, but just minutes later, we saw three other guests at another table cutting and celebrating with their own outside/custom birthday cakes. This made us feel extremely singled out and discriminated against. If there was genuinely a no-outside-cake policy, we would have completely understood — but seeing other guests being allowed to do exactly what we were told we could not do was incredibly upsetting. After midnight, the manager came back with cutlery and apologized, allowing us to cut the cake. However, the damage was already done. The moment had passed, and what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration had already been overshadowed by the way we were treated. We cannot know their intention, but the different treatment left us feeling that we were discriminated against because of our race. We had spent two weeks travelling throughout Italy and never experienced anything like this anywhere else. We left with a very sour memory of what should have been a beautiful celebration. Truly dreadful!! How can such cynically produced, overpriced rubbish be presented in the home of fine food. Fusion my eye!
