A last second decision to have a burger for lunch, plus a good friends' recommendation led me to the Carriage House Inn, and I'm happy it did. From the moment I walked in and encountered Linda at the hostess stand I knew this was the place for me. She was professional, with a great sense of humor. I hadn't thought to make a reservation, so I called from the lobby to set one up (she got a kick out of that) and when she asked me what time, I looked at my watch and said, "oh, right about now". Thankfully, they had plenty of available seats as they had just opened for lunch. Theresa was my server and recommended her favorite burger, a mushroom and swiss. I hadn't come in thinking mushroom/swiss, but I'm glad I took her advice, as the burger was juicy and fantastic. She was yet another lively part of this establishment with a great sense of humor. The Carrigae House Inn was lovely inside and out, not what I was expecting, and better than I could have hoped for in terms of the friendliness of the staff. I am certain locals know about this spot and come often, but as I was just in for lunch, it was an absolutely fantastic surprise. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, and intend to go back for another meal soon.
