Food is pretty good. Large menu. Happy hour is not great. Only margarita specials. $5.50 for a regular one, $1 extra with tajín. Good deal and strong, but wish they had food items specials too. I had to ask for utensils and napkins. No taco Tuesday specials either.

To all the cantinas I've tried before, whose house Margaritas (on the rocks, no less) couldn't make a Chihuahua stumble out the door:  I've found a place that shows, how badly your bar blows, pour me agua forevermore. Sure hope Señor Iglesias' legal team does not find the above actionable.  Palm Desert's branch of the Casa Blanca Restaurant trio is a destination watering hole, especially on weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m. for happy hour on well drinks ($4.50), or all day Tuesdays and Thursdays for $3.99 hand-shaken house Margaritas on the rocks--all beverages pleasingly potent. The chain has grown and upgraded steadily since its 1996 founding in Desert Hot Springs.  Palm Desert's is the newest property, festively decorated, casual in atmosphere, and with a diligent staff preparing food and drink. Forget about all the flat screens mounted high on the front and side walls of the cantina at the restaurant's entrance.  The real entertainment is watching from a bar stool the female server-mixologists in red vests as they caringly craft cocktails for their dining-room customers; amass full bottles, glasses, goblets and cups on a wide, round tray, and heft it all throughout the building. Although the bar is completely "exhibition," the kitchen is not, but its creations typically arrive at the table hot, flavorful and plentiful.  Chips are average but munchable, and two salsa varieties awaken a spectrum of taste buds.  The menu is varied and the choices are many, but Casa Blanca distinguishes itself with a possibly unsurpassed cantina--the main event.
