Our stay here was a short 3 nights. We had a lot to do in Cuenca, and this place was central to our trip’s needs. We have stayed in this area before, this is our first time here. When we arrived the staff were very quick to help with our luggage and get us in to the building. Also, they helped us park outside the building. From there ,we checked in and were shown to our room. First impressions, great staff and the room was very clean, almost stark. No complaints there. We had been driving all day so our first action was to test out the beds. Very nice and comfortable. One of the girls brought us a hot coffee which was nice and fresh. We both at this point went to sleep for a couple of hours. For convenience we decided to eat in the hotel. We both had a very nice Mediterranean salad, we ate in the common area which was quite busy. We got to meet more of the staff working there and they were very pleasant and helpful people. That was it for that day . We went back up to the room to unpack ,shower and sleep. Next morning we got up for breakfast ,the place was buzzing with a group of people. So we just held back and let them get going as it looked like they had a bus waiting outside. Then,we had a very sufficient breakfast of fruit and yogurt, bread with butter and jam, eggs done to your specifications, fruit juice, and coffee con leche. Then we departed to take care of our errands, shopping, and lunch. After we took care of the rest of our errands, then it was back to the room for a rest before dinner. The one big plus for us was there was no TV in the room, which made it quiet and restful. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this place to any traveler, Service: 5

Comfortable and relaxed place amidst the busy quartier of the old town. Run by a sympathetic young couple that speaks English. Decent rooms. Has a sweet hidden green courtyard to escape the city. Recommended. Service: 5

If I could give more than five stars I would! This place is beautiful in so many ways. The staff here are so wonderful and welcoming you feel like family. The rooms surround a beautiful courtyard. The restaurant serves delicious food and the bar has delicious drinks (best Moscow mule I've ever had) and they have beautiful art for sale in their own gallery. They also run special art events like drawing nights or ceramics nights. A truly amazing place to stay! It's also in a wonderful part of Cuenca, very close to Parque Calderon and pretty much central to anything you would want to do in Cuenca. I highly recommend Casa Merced! Service: 5
