Great great experience! Our server Wyatt was awesome! We came to celebrate my husband's birthday, and the whole experience was excellent. Everything came out quickly, but we were not rushed. Was able to enjoy the beautiful sunset across the San Fernando Valley. We'll definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Their Crispy Tofu and Broccoli was amazing! Kid-friendliness: Saw other families with kids. Pretty kids friendly. Came to brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. I appreciate the valet as I never want to deal finding a parking spot myself when meeting up with a group. But I think valet is mandatory so that point is moot. Everything started smoothly and we even got a spot outdoors with a great view. But issues started as time passed. Our server was attentive and patient but there were issues with the bar and kitchen that were out of her control. Two in our group had bottomless mimosas, but they couldn't get timely refills because the restaurant ran out of clean glasses and had to wait for dirty ones to be washed?? It certainly wasn't anything like the bar cutting us off as none of us were drunk - we couldn't even get refills after our first drink. It took 50 minutes from placing our order to receiving our first entree. To Castaway's credit, I thought my Fried Chicken and Waffle was delicious. The chicken was juicy and the honey roasted sriracha glaze was unique and I really enjoyed it overall. However, I wish I could say that others in my group enjoyed their dishes as much as I did. I guess waiting 50 minutes really escalated their expectations and what they got didn't meet those expectations. I'd probably come back again, but maybe I'll temper my expectations a bit more the next time around. Yelp 2024 Adventures - 1 of ??
