Dear Shaun e Flò We are sorry for your disappointment on such an important day for you. However, we would like to clarify that, as the Town Hall, we have been celebrating civil weddings for years, always assisting couples with the necessary paperwork. In this case, however, despite our reminders, the documentation was never sent either to us or to the municipality of Vizzini. Furthermore, during the meeting on June 2nd at the castle, you chose to convert the official ceremony into a symbolic one, only to later request to revert to a civil ceremony shortly before the start of the event—unfortunately no longer feasible due to obvious timing requirements (publications, consulate authorizations, etc.). Despite this, we took all necessary steps to ensure the event proceeded correctly, which it did. Your continued compliments, as well as those of your guests regarding the service and the dinner, were also reflected in your enjoyment of taking some photos with our staff. For this reason, the disappointment expressed only at the time of payment seemed to us like a pretext to avoid settling the amount due. To protect our establishment, and given the situation of evident noncompliance and bad faith, we were forced to involve the police to witness what was happening.
