WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! The people seemed lovely, we figured since it was busy that it would be good, and rushed as my boyfriend needed the loo. We regretted it. The man asked if we wanted drinks, ‘small, medium, large’ - we said large beers, they came in giant boots at €20 each probably about 3 or more pints, but there was no mention of any prices on a menu, he didn’t suggest that they were this big (after seeing other reviews it’s clear that other people also experienced this). He laughed when we said we didn’t expect them to be this big and said ‘you’re on holiday’. They tried to get us to order a platter, bear in mind the one for two is €50! The food was swimming in grease (the meat was cooked at least). I couldn’t finish my food due to it tasting awful, most likely due to being covered in grease, and felt very intimated by the server who stood over us and when I said I was full, didn’t clear our plates for over half an hour. Castello restaurant-bar. I can’t believe the bad reviews! People calling this a tourist trap and a scam? I have to question the intelligence of these people. If you don’t want a drink or to eat here and you are invited to do so, simply say "no thank you" and walk on by. Find yourself agreeing to a drink, then ask the price before committing. We were invited in and we said no the first time. Second time we said "yes, how much?" We had a huge beer each and by the time we’d got down it we were hungry. We ate and drank here several times. It’s not al-a-carte dinning, more like pub grub, but the food was good and the price reasonable. First time we shared a Greek Plater and it was very nice. After this first visit it became like visiting old friends. I’d try my Greek greetings and my polite phrases. The manager treated us to wine (on the house) and before we could leave, he’d join us with the Ouzo for one or two shots, again courtesy of the house.
