Very nice food, in a beautiful location. With greater detail: The menu offered a wide range of options, some for those who wanted something simple and other options for those with a refined pallet. We were for example able to cater for a smaller appetite and yet still keep to a three course menu with bigger or smaller puddings with ease. There is parking at the back and you have a choice of slightly different style locations inside, including a garden at the back The location could be difficult for some to find, but is in the centre of a small but historic village. Terrific evening at The Cat last night. We were two couples for supper. My male friend and I have been drinking the excellent Harvey’s here since 1974 ! Although the beer was labelled as “Beards” in the early days - It was really Harveys… Good food, brilliant beer and fab service. Wonderful.

Staying in country pubs is one of my favourite ways of seeing the English countryside. The Cat Inn is one of the best in itself and in its location in a pretty village near to many local sights, reached through leafy country roads and lanes. The food, drink and friendly service are quite exceptional.
