(1/5) I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Ceylon Hoppers Restaurant, Preston Road, London. On my way to work, I stopped by this restaurant because I was hungry and had only had a coffee that morning. I ordered a mutton roll, which cost £10, expecting a fresh and tasty meal before work. Instead, it turned out to be one of the worst food experiences I have ever had. The mutton inside the roll was extremely overcooked, dry, and unpleasant. Even worse, it tasted and smelled as though it had been fried in old, reused cooking oil. ️ The stale oil smell was impossible to ignore. I only ate it because I was hungry and rushing to work. Within 10 minutes of eating, I started feeling bloated and nauseous. Soon afterwards, I spent the entire day vomiting and became too sick to go to work, causing me to lose a day's pay. Paying £10 for food of this quality is completely unacceptable. I expected fresh, hygienically prepared food—not a meal that left me feeling seriously unwell. Based on my personal experience, I seriously question the food hygiene and cleanliness standards at this restaurant. I have also found their kottu roti to be of poor quality before, and I believe the repeated use of old cooking oil may be affecting the food they serve. ️ I strongly advise anyone considering eating here to avoid this restaurant. I don't want anyone else to experience what I went through. I sincerely hope the Food Hygiene Department investigates this restaurant and ensures proper food safety and hygiene standards are being followed. Customers deserve safe, fresh, and hygienically prepared food. This review reflects my personal experience, and unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing.
