Wow wow this place doesn't look like much but it is a great secret, never seems full from the outside but they impress with the sandwiches and pizza try it. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Damn! Closed! This place was a gem. You would've had to have been a complete idiot to screw this up ........well guess what, some idiot bought it and screwed it up. Chad and his Mom worked tirelessly to deliver amazing food, hospitality and value, building an institution in the process. Sad to see someone come in here and not honor that legacy. RIP Chad, thank you Ginger.

We were wandering down the Overseas Highway and saw the sign for Chad's Deli & Bakery, so we stopped for lunch. They have an eclectic mix of deli options and a full Italian menu. You order at the counter and sit down in the bright red dining area which is reminiscent of an old diner sponsored by Coca-Cola. My husband had the turkey BLT special on pumpernickel bread. Although we were dining there, the server had wrapped up 1/2 of the sandwich and provided a to-go bag. The sandwich is so big that most people take 1/2 home, so the restaurant anticipates this. I enjoyed a homemade egg salad on fresh ciabatta bread with a side of potato salad made with redskin potatoes. Everything was delicious. Having a bakery on-site ensures that the sandwiches are made with fresh bread. With the deli being so good, and the place being popular with the locals, we think the Italian food may be worth trying on our next visit.
